Acupuncture is a practice that involves inserting very thin, sterile needles into specific points on the body. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, this practice helps balance the flow of energy, or Qi (Chee), which is believed to travel along pathways called meridians. By inserting needles at specific points along these meridians, practitioners aim to restore the body’s natural energy balance and stimulate its self-healing abilities. This stimulation can encourage the body to produce its own natural substances to address the targeted health issue.

Lubbock native Dr. Karla Haddock, D.C., FIAMA, is dedicated to improving her patients’ quality of life through chiropractic care. Family-oriented, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Jerry, their two sons, Jason and Jarrett, and two grandchildren, Corby and Murphee, as well as pursuing hobbies like gardening, shopping, decorating, and caring for her two dogs and a tortoise. These experiences, combined with her own journey with chiropractic care after a car accident, have given her a deep understanding of the challenges the human body faces. The relief she found through chiropractic, without the use of prescription drugs, inspired her to “pay it forward” and help others. A member of the Texas Chiropractic Association, Dr. Haddock’s education includes studies at Texas Tech University, South Plains College, and Louisiana State University. She earned her Doctor of Chiropractic and Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Texas Chiropractic College (Pasadena, TX) in 2008, and a Certificate of Fellowship in Acupuncture from The International Academy of Medical Acupuncture.
